Pastor Bernie Anderson (blog)

Thank you for stopping by and checking out my little corner of the Wasatch Hills church web-site. Let me first say that I am convinced that God loves you! As popular Christian author Max Lucado puts it, God loves you so much that if he carried a wallet your picture would be in it! Having said that I realize that often it is difficult to understand how God can love us even when we spend most of our time pursuing our own goals and desires apart from him. We can't even begin to comprehend the depths of God's unfailing love, simply because from our human perspective that type of love is unfathomable. If you have ever wondered about God's love for you then you are not alone. Theologians, scholars, politicians, and philosophers have all wrestled with the notion of moving beyond God's love and grace. The message of the Bible is that the incomprehensible love that God has for you and me caused him to send His only son, Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for the entire world (John 3:16). Christ's sacrifice opens the door for everyone to personally experience the love of God.

What I have come to find out is that God's love can transform and change anyone's life. It can impact how we treat people, especially those closest to us. It can impact the attitude that we carry into each and every day. God's love even allows us to know incredible peace even in the midst of pressure and chaos. It allows us to love those who are un-loving toward us and to pray for those who wish us ill will. Unfortunately we don't always do that but it isn't because God is bad it is because we have failed to follow God's lead. Thankfully we are all a work in progress! Thankfully God is patient. I'm also grateful for God's tough love. Yes, I believe God's love has such depth that at times we may feel like God is our enemy. But that isn't the case at all. God is a loving teacher and at times in order for us to grasp His lesson we have to experience challenges. He wants to move us out of our comfortable places at times in order to change our characters. While the process isn't fun on the other side we'll come to find greater joy and peace.

Perhaps you've stumbled across this site curious as to what this church has to offer. I can't guarantee much other than the fact that as the pastor we will always convey to you the message, God loves you.

Maybe you've been looking for love in all the wrong places? Let me encourage you to stop your search with God. I invite you to give God a chance and allow him to love you the way no one else can. Feel free to e-mail me at pastor@wasatchhills.org Thanks!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11

In Christ's Love,

Pastor Bernie
